The Impact of Pilates on Quality of Life Among Practitioners and Physical Therapy Patients

This study aims to investigate the impact of the Pilates method on the quality of life of its practitioners, focusing on the physical, emotional, and social dimensions of well-being. The SF-36 questionnaire was used as the primary assessment tool, complemented by additional questions addressing self-esteem, anxiety, and social interaction. The study shas the problem to what extent does practicing the Pilates method influence quality of life, and to know what is the concept of quality of life among its practitioners? Its relevance lies in the growing use of Pilates in therapeutic settings, particularly in physical therapy, and the need for a more comprehensive evaluation of its effects. Key aspects analyzed include pain, mobility, physical disposition, stress levels, mental health, functional capacity, and social engagement. The findings suggest that Pilates contribute positively to participants’ quality of life, highlighting its potential as an effective tool for rehabilitation and health promotion in diverse contexts.
