Foot ulcers related to diabetes mellitus (DM) represent one of the most serious complications of the disease, impacting quality of life and increasing morbidity and mortality. The prevention of these lesions depends on adequate clinical examination of the feet and the early identification of risk factors, which requires continuous training of nurses in Primary Health Care (PHC). In this context, serious games constitute innovative teaching strategies capable of promoting meaningful learning and strengthening the professional’s clinical reasoning. Objective: To develop and evaluate a serious game on foot assessment in people with diabetes mellitus for PHC nurses. Method: Methodological study, with a quantitative approach and technological focus, based on the framework of Benitti, Seara, and Schlindwen (2005), adapted, and composed of four stages: (1) conception, defining educational objectives and conducting a scoping review on foot assessment strategies in people with DM; (2) development, involving the construction, evaluation, and preliminary validation of the prototype by specialists in stomatherapy, dermatology, and nursing education, as well as PHC nurses, using the instruments Adapted Content Validation (Medeiros, 2021), EGame-Flow (Fu, Su, & Yu, 2009), and Heuristic Evaluation for Digital Educational Games (HEDEG); (3) finalization, incorporating the judges’ suggestions and preparing the user manual; and (4) implementation, making the game freely available on the internet. The study will follow the ethical principles of Resolution No. 466/2012 of the National Health Council and the General Data Protection Law (LGPD).
