SUMMARY:

Myocardial revascularization is a procedure indicated for patients with coronary artery disease, especially in cases involving obstructions that compromise blood flow to the heart muscle and do not respond adequately to clinical treatment. As such, it is a high-complexity intervention that requires systematic care and continuous follow-up to ensure therapeutic adherence and patient recovery. In this context, the present study aims to develop and validate a navigation protocol based on the needs and barriers of patients undergoing myocardial revascularization surgery. This is a methodological study with a quantitative and cross- sectional approach, structured in three stages: (1) scoping review; (2) cross-sectional study to assess navigation needs and barriers; and (3) construction and validation of the protocol’s content and appearance, with the participation of expert judges selected online through the Lattes Platform. The study will be submitted to the Research Ethics Committee of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte. In this context, health navigation is understood as a
structured process of follow-up throughout the continuum of care, promoting access and effective health care. Therefore, the proposed protocol aims to address gaps in postoperative follow-up for this population, offering safer and more patient-centered care. The expected outcomes include the support for evidence-based practices, enhanced assistance, and improved clinical outcomes. Furthermore, the study stands out for its innovation and contribution to the quality of care, particularly in settings with high demand for cardiac surgeries and challenges in care continuity.
