"Content and Clinical Validation of the Nursing Diagnosis Risk for Occupational Physical Injury"
Occupational health, Occupational nursing, Nursing consultation, Nursing diagnosis.
Around 395 million workers worldwide suffer non-fatal occupational injuries, and approximately 3 million people die each year due to accidents and illnesses related to their professional activity, according to the International Labor Organization. Workers' health is a branch of knowledge whose object is the work-related health-disease process and seeks to understand workers' illness from the perspective of the work process and conditions they experience. Nurses, regardless of whether they are specialists in the field, must be committed to promoting, preventing illnesses and accidents, and rehabilitating workers' health. It should be noted that in any socio-environmental context in which nursing care takes place, the nursing process or consultation should be organized into five stages: Nursing assessment, Nursing diagnosis, Nursing planning, Nursing implementation and Nursing evolution. Nursing diagnoses in workers' health are fundamental for identifying occupational risks, preventing work-related illnesses and promoting workers' health. With this in mind, this study has the following guiding questions: What are the risk factors for ND Risk of occupational physical injury in healthcare workers, as evidenced in the literature and validated by judges? What are the risk factors for ND Risk of occupational physical injury, based on a survey of health workers? The aim of this study is to validate the risk factors of the Nursing Diagnosis Risk of occupational physical injury. To achieve the proposed objective, a methodological study will be carried out to validate a risk diagnosis, which will consist of three stages, namely: Scope review, content validation by an expert and clinical validation through a retrospective study of health workers' medical records. In the second stage, 25 nurses with experience in the area of occupational health and/or nursing diagnoses that comply with the characterization of expertise according to the adapted Fehring method will be invited to participate in the study. The specialist nurses will evaluate the risk factors and associated conditions of the nursing diagnosis Risk for occupational physical injury, evidenced through the scope review. Content validation will be based on the method proposed by Fehring. An electronic form will be applied, consisting of two parts, namely: the first part will address the profile of the specialist nurse and the second part will address the analysis of the ND under study with the risk factors and associated conditions. The third stage will be developed at the Occupational Health and Safety Unit of the Hospital Complex of the Federal University of Ceará, through a retrospective study and will include health workers who suffered work accidents, between 2015 and 2024. The research instrument will be a structured form, constructed by the author, composed of two parts: the first to collect data on the socioeconomic and work profile of the research subjects, and the second to collect clinical data related to work accidents, for clinical validation of the ND Risk for occupational physical injury.
