Although technical skills are essential for professional entry into institutions, it is
the sociobehavioral skills that ensure the permanence and success of
professionals. Among these skills, leadership stands out in the context of
nursing. With the advancement of globalization and technology, education has
undergone significant transformations, promoting greater flexibility in teaching
and learning. In this context, the present study aims to evaluate the effectiveness
of an online educational module on leadership in the acquisition of knowledge
among nursing students. The study was developed in two stages. The first
consisted of a methodological study, while the second involved an experimental
design. The second phase was conducted with sixth-semester nursing students,
regularly enrolled in the first semester of 2024, at the Nursing Department of the
Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN), in Natal. The Control Group
participated in traditional in-person classes at the Nursing Department, while the
Experimental Group had access to an online educational module, consisting of
recorded lectures, available on Google Classroom for a period of five days. The
data collection instrument was divided into two sections: the first addressed a
problem-solving situation, and the second consisted of an adaptation of the
Nursing Students' Self-Perception Questionnaire on Leadership. The study was
approved by the Ethics Committee of UFRN, under CAAE
75851023.0.0000.5537, with Opinion 6.599.419, and registered in the Brazilian
Clinical Trials Registry (REBEC), under number RBR-2dfqmr2. Most of the
students were between 20 and 25 years old and female. A significant change in
the conception of leadership was observed after the intervention. Both in the
control and experimental groups, the data indicated a significant increase in the
development of leadership skills and in participants' self-perception as leaders,
with notable improvements in key areas essential for leadership practice. These
results suggest that the educational intervention had a positive impact on
enhancing leadership skills among nursing students, demonstrating greater
alignment with fundamental leadership concepts and a significant increase in
participants' self-perception as leaders. Therefore, these findings reinforce the
importance of integrating leadership into academic training strategies, preparing
future nurses to face the challenges of the professional environment with greater
confidence and assertiveness.
Management discipline at another institution. The data will be analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The research will be carried out at the Nursing Department of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte, in Natal, capital of the state of Rio Grande do Norte. In compliance with Resolution 466/2012, which defines the guidelines and regulatory standards for research involving human beings, this project will be submitted for analysis by the Research Ethics Committee of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte, and will only be initiated after a favorable opinion. It should be noted that this research will provide indirect benefits for participants, as it will expand knowledge about leadership. Thus, based on the results obtained, actions/interventions can be developed that promote more effective learning about leadership, providing the student with greater knowledge and increased safety on the subject, training nurses capable of promoting an efficient and collaborative work environment, optimizing results achieved in patient care and contributing to the success of the healthcare institution as a whole.
