SUMMARY:

Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder is defined by detrimental and persistent levels of
inattention, disorganization, and/or hyperactivity-impulsivity. Previously, it was
mistakenly believed that the diagnosis had few repercussions on the lives of patients,
however it is observed that it can persist into adulthood, affecting around 2.5% of this
population, and with real possibilities of resulting in impairments in functioning. social,
academic and professional of these individuals. Among the main academic difficulties
highlighted by students with attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder are: reading and
writing, lack of dynamism in classes, hyperactivity, content assessment, indiscipline and
aggressiveness, relationships, self-esteem, human diversity. Some of these difficulties
are attributed to teachers' lack of knowledge about the disorder, which highlights the
need for inclusive, meaningful, participatory and questioning, motivating and engaging
teaching. In this context, this thesis aims to develop and validate an educational booklet
to help undergraduate nursing teachers teach university students with attention
deficit/hyperactivity disorder. This is a methodological and descriptive study with a
quantitative approach, which will be developed through the following steps: 1)
bibliographical survey; 2) construction of the educational booklet, 3) validation of the
educational booklet by judges. The project will be submitted to the research ethics
committee of the central campus of the federal university of Rio Grande do Norte and
will comply with the ethical foundations of resolution No. 466/2012 of the national
health council, which regulates research involving human beings nationwide.
