Museum; Memory; MIS/CE; Decoloniality
This research analyzes recent actions at the Museu da Imagem e do Som do Ceará (MIS/CE) in the period between 2023 and 2024 that propose new ways of occupying the museum space, focusing on the first Transvestigêneres Technologies Creation Workshop, promoted by the Program Betray the Cistema. This research proposes an ethnographic study, inspired by the approach of Tim Ingold (2011). The methodology adopted in this study was the crossing methodology developed by Isadora Ravena (2022) which reveals areas of spells and confabulations based on the knowledge of transvestites. This approach refuses transparency and promotes new epistemologies and methodologies for creating art. The study also addressed the issue of time and memory, highlighting that memory is continually constructed in the present. The research demonstrates, based on the practices and experiences of the artists involved, how these issues arise in the occupation of museum spaces. The research adopts a decolonial approach, inspired by the reflections of Françoise Vergès (2023), Frantz Fanon (1968) and Grada Kilomba (2019) who question dominant narratives and highlight the importance of the occupation of public spaces by historically marginalized group
