THE SERTÕES AND THE MEB: an analysis of the Basic Education Movement - MEB, in the city of Caicó (1960s, 1970s and 1980s)

The dissertation text presented here consists of analyzing the implementation of the Basic Education Movement - MEB, in the city of Caicó. Its general objective is to analyze the development of the Basic Education Movement - MEB, in the municipality of Caicó - RN, Seridó region, during the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s, to understand the actions of the MEB in the fight against illiteracy and the applicability of the developmental process of the Federal Government in the Sertões do Seridó, through the didactic material of the MEB, as well as the analysis of the schedules of the radiophonic programs transmitted through the Rural Radio of Caicó-RN. The proposal will be based on the concepts of Elias Civilization (1994), Foucault's Discourse Analysis (2008) and Freire's Conscientization (2001). The methodology used is qualitative, carried out through analysis of newspapers, icnographic material, letters, official documents of the MEB/Caicó, didactic material produced by the MEB, made available at the LABORDOC of CERES Caicó, and another part of the material in the custody of Colégio Diocesano. of Caico (CDS).
