ANALYSIS OF OXIDATIVE DNA DAMAGE IN ORAL PLANE THROUGH 8-HYDROXY-2'-DEOXIGUANOSINE IMMUNOISTOCHEMICAL EXPRESSION
Lichen Planus; Oxidative Stress; DNA damage; Immunohistochemistry.
Oral Lichen Planus (OLP) is an immunologically mediated chronic mucocutaneous disease that is relatively common in the dental clinic. Several researches have been conducted to identify pathogens of this lesion, since it is still unknown, standing out as researches that use oxidative stress biomarkers, suggesting an important relationship of oxidative stress in OLP. Among these biomarkers is the 8-hydroxy-2'-deoxyguanosine (8-OHdG), which is generated after oxidative DNA damage. In this context, the objective of this research is to evaluate the oxidative damage of DNA in OLP through the immunohistochemical expression of 8-OHdG, to verify if this mechanism may be involved in the pathogenic of this lesion. An observational cross-sectional study will be performed, which will be evaluated the 8-OHdG immunoexpression in OLP and correlates with its clinical-pathological aspects.
