Construction of an Educational Action for Pharmaceutical Preceptors Based on the Identification of Learning Needs in the Supervised Curricular Internship
Preceptorship. Public health. Continuing education in health. Hospital Pharmacy.
Introduction: the role of the preceptor has gained prominence in healthcare institutions by providing learning situations for students, enabling interventions and professional practices to be exercised, reflected upon, transformed, and effectively assimilated throughout the training process, thus characterizing preceptorship as an educational practice. Objective: to design and develop an educational intervention aimed at pharmaceutical preceptors involved in supervised curricular internships, based on the identification of their learning needs, with the purpose of qualifying preceptorship practices and strengthening the educational process of undergraduate pharmacy students in the hospital setting. Methodology: Descriptive–exploratory study with a qualitative approach, using interviews as the data collection technique guided by a semi-structured script. The research setting was the Pharmacy Division of a public pediatric hospital. The study participants were pharmacist preceptors, pharmacy interns, and pharmacy course coordinators. The interviews will be categorized and organized for content analysis, according to Laurence Bardin’s framework. The study is situated in the field of Health Education, with a focus on teaching–service integration and the qualification of educational processes within the scope of the Brazilian Unified Health System.
