WORK-RELATED MENTAL DISORDERS IN SERVANTS FROM A FEDERAL UNIVERSITY
Mental Health, Occupational Health, Public Servant.
Introduction: Work-related mental disorders make up a group of diseases that have been widely studied by researchers and have aroused interest among managers, because they represent a public health problem, one of the most frequent causes of worker´s absence and they generate low productivity, long periods of work disability and even early retirement. Objective: To analyse factors that contribute to mental illness of public servants of a federal university. Method: This is a descriptive exploratory study with a qualitative approach. Firstly, a research will be done about those workers from Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN) who needed to stop working to treat disorders, which main codes, according to International Classification Diseases, are those belonging to F group (Mental and Behavioral Disorders) and those which have as secondary codes the following: Z73.0 (Burn-out), Z56.5 (Uncongenial work), Y96 (Work-related condition), Z56.3 (Stressful work schedule) and Z56.6 (Other physical and mental strain related to work) during the period 2010-2019, obtained from the Federal Public Administration System (SIAPE SAÚDE). In the second stage of the study, a field research will be conducted through semi-structured interviews with selected participants that will describe the relationship between their illness and work. The interviews will be interpreted through thematic analysis proposed by Minayo (2013).
