Nursing education; suturing techniques; nurses; hospital emergency service.
The present study aims to develop and validate a Teaching Plan designed to qualify nurses to perform simple suturing, a procedure authorized by COFEN Resolution No. 731/2023. This is an applied research study with a descriptive and exploratory design, grounded in Pasquali’s methodological framework for instrument development and validation. The theoretical phase will consist of documentary and bibliographic research aimed at identifying essential elements for teaching the technique, organized according to didactic categories proposed by classical authors in the field. In the empirical phase, a preliminary model of the Teaching Plan and a checklist for practical skill assessment will be developed and submitted to content validation by experts selected according to Fehring’s criteria. Data collection will be conducted through an electronic instrument using Google Forms. The analytical phase will employ descriptive statistics and the Content Validity Coefficient, adopting a minimum acceptable value of 0.70. All stages of the research will comply with the ethical guidelines established by CNS Resolution No. 466/2012, ensuring anonymity, confidentiality, and voluntary participation. It is expected that the resulting product will contribute to professional qualification, enhance safety in the performance of simple suturing, and strengthen problem-solving capacity in urgent and emergency care services.
