SUMMARY:

Cardiovascular diseases are a major cause of morbidity and mortality in Brazil, and chest pain is one of the leading complaints in emergency services, requiring rapid assessment and standardized conduct due to the risk of Acute Coronary Syndrome. The lack of specific care protocols for nurses compromises patient safety, increases variability in care, and may delay timely diagnosis and treatment, particularly in small and medium-sized hospitals. This study aims to construct and validate a chest pain care protocol for nurses working in emergency hospital services. It is a methodological study based on the Praxical Model for Technology Development and is structured in four phases. The pragmatic phase includes a scoping review and the recognition and interpretation of nursing practice in the care setting. The productive-artistic phase is focused on the construction of the preliminary version of the protocol. The experimental phase involves content validation by specialists using the Delphi Technique. Finally, the revolutionary phase refers to the pilot application of the protocol in the service. The expected outcome is the development of a clear, relevant, and applicable care technology that supports clinical decision-making, standardizes nursing practices, and improves the quality of care for adult patients with chest pain in emergency settings.
