Standard Operating Procedure for Auriculotherapy in the Care of Employees Absent Due to Anxiety and Depression

Introduction: Mental illness, particularly anxiety and depression disorders, has become a significant cause of sick leave among civil servants in a university context. Auriculotherapy is an integrative and complementary health practice that has proven effective in reducing anxiety symptoms. This makes it a promising strategy for caring for these workers. This study directly contributes to achieving Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 3 – Good Health and Well-being, by proposing improvements in mental health care for workers. Objective: Develop a Standard Operating Procedure for auriculotherapy to care for Federal University employees on leave due to anxiety disorders and depression. Method: Convergent Care Research will conduct this descriptive, exploratory, qualitative This research will be submitted to the Ethics and Research Committee prior to its enrollment, where, after approval, it will be conducted using Convergent Care Research, with a descriptive and exploratory character, using a qualitative approach, and will be structured in three main stages. The first will consist of conducting an integrative literature review, in order to gather and analyze scientific evidence on the effectiveness of auriculotherapy in the management of mental disorders, especially anxiety and depression, in university public servants. After this, a preliminary version of the Standard Operating Procedure will be constructed as a technological product, based on the information obtained in the review. Finally, a Focus Group will be conducted with auriculotherapy specialists, which will aim to identify gaps in the content of the instrument and thus improve its clarity, applicability, and alignment with the guidelines of integrative practices in the Unified Health System. The participants' contributions will be transcribed and submitted to content analysis, according to the technique proposed by Bardin, for qualitative interpretation of the data.Expected results: The resulting Standard Operating Procedure Technical Product is expected to contribute to the standardization and improvement of care for federal civil servants on leave due to anxiety and depression disorders by promoting safe, effective, and evidence-based therapeutic alternatives.
