SUMMARY:

The healthcare products used in gynecological video surgeries are complex devices whose reprocessing represents a technical challenge at all stages. Commonly reusable, these instruments have characteristics such as miniaturization, the presence of valves, narrow lumens, recesses, optical and electronic components, which make them vulnerable to processing failures and increase the risks to patient safety. Although manufacturers provide instruction manuals, the guidelines are often insufficient, inaccurate or contradictory in relation to health standards and established good practices. This study is justified by the need for a reliable, safe and scientifically based technical-technological product for processing products used in gynecological hysteroscopies and videolaparoscopies. The aim was to develop a protocol for processing health products used in gynaecological video surgeries for a material and sterilization center at the Januário Cicco Maternity School. This is a methodological study developed in two stages: an integrative literature review and the construction of the protocol, based on the Theory of Knowledge Translation. The process of preparing the technical and technological product followed the recommendations of the Guide for the Construction of Nursing Care Protocols of the Regional Nursing Council of São Paulo and the operational standard for the preparation and control of institutional documents of the Brazilian Hospital Services Company. The first stage consisted of an integrative review, which allowed the essential contents of the protocol to be defined by peers, through the analysis of 19 scientific studies available in the databases searched, organized into seven thematic categories: pre-cleaning, reception, cleaning, preparation, sterilization, storage, transport and quality control. The second stage consisted of structuring the protocol in accordance with the manufacturers' recommendations, current health legislation and the service's technical and operational standards. The protocol developed is a strategic tool aimed at standardizing and qualifying processing practices in the material and sterilization center at the Januário Cicco Maternity School. It is hoped that its implementation will contribute to patient safety, the reduction of risks of incidents and adverse events, the rational use of resources and the strengthening of the team's permanent education, thus assuming a relevant technical and social role in minimally invasive gynecological care.
