CONSTRUCTION AND VALIDATION OF A CHECKLIST FOR INTER-HOSPITAL TRANSFERS OF PATIENTS IN EMERGENCY CARE UNITS

Introduction: Inter-hospital transfer is a frequent practice in health services and encompasses the transition of care, either to continue treatment in other hospital units or to other sectors of the same unit. It should be noted that one of the essential pillars for inter-hospital transfer is patient safety and continuity of care and, for this, it is necessary to follow validated instruments that can contribute to patient transfers. Thus, the study aims to General Objective To build and validate a Checklist for inter-hospital transfers of patients in Emergency Care Units. Method: This is a methodological development study with a quantitative and qualitative approach. This methodology involves the investigation, construction and validation of research instruments and methods. The study will follow three stages: a scoping review to highlight the content of the checklist, then a focus group will be held to construct the instrument's items, and the third stage will consist of content validation with judges who are experts in the field. The study was approved by the Research Ethics Committee of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte.
