SUMMARY:

Introduction: Human Milk Banks are responsible for care activities, as well as processing, quality control and distribution of human milk for newborns in NICUs. However, studies show a significant loss of donated human milk due to existing nonconformities, such as dirt, high acidity, non-compliant packaging and contamination by total coliforms. Therefore, strategies are needed to improve the quality of donated human milk. Objective: To build and validate a digital educational booklet for donors of a human milk bank. Methodology: This is a methodological study, with a quantitative approach, based on Pasquali's Psychometrics model, according to the following steps: construction of the instrument from documentary research (theoretical procedures), opinion of judges or experts on the subject (empirical or experimental procedures) and application of statistical tests (analytical procedures). Results: The digital educational booklet was validated by the judges, with some adjustments being necessary. Conclusion: Considering the benefits of breast milk in the short and long term, especially in the neonatal ICU, it is expected that the booklet will be an instrument that reduces losses of donated human milk, increasing stocks in milk banks and availability for newborns who need it, reducing hospitalization time and hospital costs.
