SUMMARY:

Cancer is a non-communicable chronic disease, consisting of a group of more than one hundred diseases, which have in common the disordered growth of cells, which invade tissues and organs, and can even spread to other distant organs of the body. The objective of this study is to build and validate a prototype of a patient navigation application to be used in patients diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia at a university hospital. This is a methodological study with a quantitative approach. The methodological framework of Pasquali (2010) will be used, which emphasizes the importance of the instrument validation process and developed in three poles or stages. The first Pole will be the Theoretical, through a scope review, with the purpose of selecting results for the construction of the domains and construct items; The second stage will be empirical, where judges, experts in the areas of nursing and oncology, will evaluate the first version of the navigation application prototype, following the instructions on an electronic form made available electronically on Google Forms®, the guidelines of the Delphi technique and evaluation using a Likert scale; the third stage will be statistical, where the statistical analysis and validation of the final version of the instrument will be performed using the Content Validity Index (CVI) and the Kappa coefficient of agreement (k). The questionnaire will be circulated among the group of experts until consensus is reached. The analysis of the collected data will be done according to descriptive statistics and data tabulation using Microsoft Office Excel® and SPSS software. It is expected that the development and validation of the navigation application prototype for patients diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia will result in a practical and effective instrument that can be widely used by nurses, in addition to contributing to the standardization of care and improvement of the quality of care provided to cancer patients. Furthermore, it is believed that the validated prototype should facilitate communication between different specialties and improve care coordination, resulting in greater patient adherence to recommended treatments and, potentially, better clinical outcomes.
