SUMMARY:

Reception is considered a fundamental strategy for the materialization of the National Mental Health Policy and one of the main guidelines of the National Humanization Policy, also constituting a powerful tool to guarantee the implementation of the principles of the Unified Health System. The objective of this study is develop a training proposal for mental health professionals on welcoming users in psychological distress in psychosocial care. This will be a descriptive-exploratory study with a qualitative approach. The study will be developed in three phases. Phase 1 will consist of identifying the content of the training course based on the perceptions of health professionals and the pillars used to implement reception as proposed by the National Mental Health Policy (PNSM), the Brazilian Psychiatric Reform (RPB) and by the National Humanization Policy (PNH). The study will be carried out in a CAPS III unit, in the city of Natal and the research population will consist of nurses, nursing technicians, doctors, social workers, pharmacists and psychologists. Semi-structured interviews and focus groups will be carried out, according to the exploratory need of the research, with the participants. The data will be analyzed using Bardin's content analysis technique. Phase 2 will consist of structuring the proposal for the training course for mental health professionals on welcoming users in psychological distress in psychosocial care and phase 3 will consist of preparing an infographic. This study is subject to the provisions of Resolution 466/2012, which defines the guidelines and regulatory standards for research involving human beings and the provisions of the General Data Protection Law (Law 13,709, of August 14, 2018) in the handling of data and information conveyed online. It is expected, with the structuring of the training course, a product of this research, to contribute to the qualification of mental health professionals in the Psychosocial Care Network, especially workers from CAPS III of the Eastern Health District of the Municipality of Natal and to update reception in this service, converging with the PNSM/PNH/SUS proposal, transforming the operating scenario with a view to benefiting people who seek help because they are experiencing some psychological distress. Furthermore, it is expected to contribute to Continuing Education and the organization of the mental health work process.
