SUMMARY:

At present, female health assistance is directed towards all the life stages of women. The climacteric is defined as a biological event of female cycle and consists in a long period of hormonal, physical and emotional changes, which marks the transition from the reproductive phase to the non-reproductive state. As life expectancy in women has been increasing, it is necessary to implement health assistance practices that improve quality of life. Within this context, the aim of this study is to build a Nursing Care Planning for the climacteric outpatients of Januario Cicco Maternity School. The main objectives are: 1) To analyse the quality of life of women and associate it with social, economic, cultural and clinical factors, obtained through the nursing assessment; 2) To identify nursing diagnoses related to climacteric. The first part of this project consists in a quantitative research via a cross-sectional design. It will involve 131 subjects from 40 to 65 years old and it will exclude those women with severe psychiatric disorders or who abuse illicit drugs and alcohol. Two instruments will be used: the Menopause Rating Scale (MRS) and the Nursing Assessment Form based on Wanda Horta’s theory. The first instrument will collect information on dependent variables, such as climacteric symptoms and quality of life, and the second one on independent variables that are socialdemographic and clinical data and also the psychological, psychosocial and spiritual needs. Next, a confrontation between data will be done to identify the nursing diagnoses, with the support of NANDA (2018) Taxonomy II and the Developing Nurse’s Thinking Model adapted for Brazilian culture. Finally, based on these findings, it will be built the Nursing Care Planning. The present work will be submitted to the Research Ethics Committee of the University Hospital Onofre Lopes according to resolution nº 466/2012 of the National Health Council and complementary.
