SUMMARY:

Mathematics education is often perceived as a subject that presents significant challenges in the teaching and learning process, both for the students and the teachers involved. Students' misunderstanding and lack of motivation in relation to mathematical content taught in a traditional way are observed, as well as teachers' difficulties in achieving satisfactory results in mathematics teaching. Given this, classroom experience has shown that the level and quality of student learning in mathematics has been steadily decreasing. This research aims to help change this scenario through an investigation into how continued training on the use of Learning Objects and Open Educational Resources for teaching mathematics can help with the professional development of distance learning degree students in Pedagogy and Mathematics from UFRN. Thus, the general objective of this work is to develop Continuing Training focused on the use of Learning Objects and Open Educational Resources as a didactic strategy in teaching mathematics for students of the Degree in Pedagogy and Mathematics courses, offered in the Distance Learning modality by UFRN and specific objectives a) Analyze the context of distance learning Pedagogy and Mathematics students; b) Plan continued training on innovative practices in teaching Mathematics with Learning Objects and open Educational Resources; c) Develop training content on the use of Learning Objects and Open Educational Resources for teaching mathematics; d) Provide a training course for students from eight centers that offer degrees in EaD Pedagogy and Mathematics; e) Evaluate the training course offered. As a theoretical foundation, this study covers the foundations of Distance Education and Continuing Teacher Training, Learning Objects and Digital Repositories, Open Educational Resources and Fixed Instructional Design. The study also includes a Systematic Literature Review. The methodology adopted presents a qualitative approach, of an applied nature, with descriptive and exploratory research objectives and with procedures that will be used based on the stages of fixed instructional design. The proposal will be applied at the centers of the Open University of Brazil (UAB) that offer Degree courses in Pedagogy or Mathematics linked to UFRN. Data analysis will be carried out using Saldaña coding circles. As a result, it is expected that the research will contribute to teacher training, so that students understand the fundamental concepts of Digital Resources, recognizing their relevance for the development of mathematical skills. Using these elements, we seek to contribute positively to the teaching and learning process of undergraduate students in Pedagogy and Mathematics, strengthening their teaching training in Open Educational Resources (REAs) and Learning Objects (OAs). As a technological product, teaching material aligned with the stages of Fixed Instructional Design will be created, intended for a teacher training course. This material will provide resources for carrying out interventions that aim to support student development and learning.
