USE OF SCRATCH IN LITERACY: PRODUCTION OF MULTIMODAL CONTENT WITH ETHNIC-RACIAL REPRESENTATION

This proposal emerged from the identification of difficulties faced by students in the literacy process, the lack of ethnic-racial representation in the teaching materials available at schools, and the ineffective teacher training regarding the use of Informatics in Education. The central issue of this research is to verify if the Scratch software can contribute as a multimodal content creation tool in the literacy process through contact with Afro-Brazilian and African culture with a constructionist pedagogical approach for teachers in initial training. The objective of the research is to analyze the use of Scratch as an auxiliary tool in the literacy process with ethnic-racial representation in the initial training of teachers. The methodological approach will be qualitative, exploratory in nature in terms of objectives, experimental and action-research in terms of technical procedures. The research subjects will be teachers in the undergraduate the Pedagogy course at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN). Based on this research a didactic guide with a constructionist approach will be developed, for the use of Scratch in the literacy process, diversity of materials that can promote improvement in reading and writing skills, in addition to contact with ethnic-racial references.
