Comparative Analysis on Methods for Tuning Industrial Alarms
alarm thresholds, alarm optimization
The alarm management has gained visibility in the industrial and scientific community in last years. In this context, a major deficiency is the inadequate configuration of the alarm thresholds, causing, for instance, alarm overload to the operators. In order to solve this problem several approaches for setting alarm thresholds have been proposed in recent years, for example, Correlation Consistency and FAR/MAR/AAD. The present work aims to perform a comparative study of alarm tuning methods through performance metrics in a simulated plant-wide environment.
