SUMMARY:

Introduction: Motor learning is characterized by the permanent change in a person's competence to perform a motor skill, and the use of its principles in clinical practice is essential. However, there are doubts about the knowledge and application of these principles by physical therapists in the sensorimotor rehabilitation process. The "Physical Therapists' Perceptions of Motor Learning (PTP-ML) questionnaire" was designed to assess the self-efficacy of professional physical therapists, the use of concepts that govern motor learning in a self-reported way, and the environmental factors that facilitate or hinder the strategies of learning, being necessary for its use in Brazil, its translation, validation and reliability. Objective: To carry out the validation and cross-cultural adaptation and reliability of the instrument “Physical Therapists’ Perceptions of Motor Learning (PTP-ML) questionnaire” for a Portuguese (Brazil) version. Materials and Methods: This is a methodological study to assess the psychometric properties of the translated version of the questionnaire “PHYSICAL THERAPISTS PERCEPTIONS OF MOTOR LEARNING (PTP - ML)”, following the guidelines (COSMIN). With the sample composed of Brazilian physiotherapists who have active registrations in their regional councils (CREFITO). For online data collection, an online questionnaire based on "PHYSICAL THERAPISTS PERCEPTIONS OF MOTOR LEARNING (PTP - ML)" will be used. The validation and cross-cultural adaptation process will be based on the following phases: translation, translation synthesis, retranslation, expert committee, pre-test of the pre-final version (cognitive interviews), pre-final version (applied by google forms). With the results of the questionnaires answered by physiotherapists in Brazil from the most diverse specialties recognized by COFFITO, the analysis of the psychometric properties will be made, through quantitative data presenting data of frequency, percentage and absolute number measures for categorical variables. All analyzes will be performed using SPSS software, version 20.0, R software version 3.5.1 and BioEstat for statistical analysis and construction of infographics, analyzing test-retest reliability, internal consistency and standard error. The reliability index will be determined through the intraclass correlation coefficients (ICC) with the ICC agreement model.
