School Physical Education, as a curricular component responsible for addressing different bodily practices, still faces challenges related to the appreciation of Afro-Brazilian knowledge and cultural manifestations. In this context, content related to Afro-Brazilian history and culture remains largely invisible in school classes, a reality that can also be observed in the Brazilian National Common Curricular Base (BNCC). Therefore, this study aimed to analyze the teaching of Afro-Brazilian dances from an anti-racist education perspective in Physical Education classes for 5th-grade students at a municipal school in Patos, Paraíba, Brazil. This qualitative, participatory study was conducted with 20 students. The pedagogical intervention consisted of an eight-class teaching sequence grounded in Afro-Brazilian civilizational values and structured around Coco de Roda. Data were collected through pre- and post-intervention questionnaires, a field diary, and photographic and audiovisual records. The data were analyzed using the Content Analysis proposed by Bardin, enabling the construction of the following categories: ancestry and memory; circularity and orality; musicality and playfulness; religiosity and vital energy; and corporeality and communitarianism. The results revealed that students had limited exposure to Afro-Brazilian dances in the school context and limited knowledge of the subject. Following the intervention, an expansion of knowledge and a re signification of these manifestations were observed, associated with the appreciation of Black culture and identity, respect, and the fight against racism. The experience also encouraged students to problematize situations of racism in everyday school life, demonstrating the potential of Afro-Brazilian dances for anti-racist education. As an educational product, the Anti-Racist Guide to Afro-Brazilian Dances was developed, systematizing the teaching sequence and providing teachers with support for teaching these manifestations in Physical Education, as well as complementary resources for carrying out the activities.
