SUMMARY:

Currently, the lack of interest of students seems to be one of the problems faced by
most teachers when we think about teaching and learning. With the difficulties that
many Physical Education teachers have been facing in relation to the lack of interest of
students, motivation and the methodology used by teachers have gained relevance as
topics to be revisited in the school context. As a general objective, we propose to
analyze whether Cooperative Games as a pedagogical intervention in Physical
Education at school can favor the participation and inclusion of students in the teaching
of physical practices. And to achieve this general objective, we defined the following
specific objectives: to identify the main causes that led students to become demotivated
and absent from Physical Education classes at school; to identify and characterize the
Cooperative Games teaching method, its principles and its practical application in
Physical Education at school; to apply a teaching unit on Futsal, using Cooperative
Games as a methodological strategy, aiming to evaluate whether students were
motivated to participate more in Physical Education classes. As a research, we chose the
participant type, with a qualitative approach. As instruments for data collection, we will
use a teaching unit of Cooperative Games consisting of ten classes, participant
observation recorded in a field diary and two questionnaires, one diagnostic and the
other evaluative. The research will be initiated after prior approval by the Research
Ethics Committee and consent of the participants and their guardians. The participants
will be students regularly enrolled in the 7th grade, class A, of a school located in the
city of Cabedelo/PB. The thematic content analysis method will support the analysis
and interpretation of the data. We hope that the completion of this study will provide
knowledge that teachers in the area can apply in their pedagogical practices.
