RESUMO:

Enhanced oil recovery (EOR) is used to improve oil displacement from rock pores, increasing the reservoir productivity. Microemulsions have been used in EOR due to its miscibility and surface action. In this work, microemulsion systems (formulated withUltranex NP 120, 2-butanol, n-heptane, and water) were obtained, with and without the addition of poly(acrylic acid). The resultant systems were characterized in terms of drop diameter, viscosity, wettability and oil recovery in sandstones porous media.In terms of oil recovery, the polymer solution yielded lower results (22%) when compared to microemulsions without its addition (21-33%),while microemulsions with its addition yielded higher values (41%), indicating its suitability to EOR.
