RESUMO:

Currently, the world has been faced with an energy crisis, coupled with the use of fóssil fuel. Problems such as the release of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere by burning fuel and decreasing oil reserves is causing warning to society. Due to the problems, the search for alternative energy sources has increased dramatically, among them biodiesel, mono ester of fatty acid, derived from raw animal and plant, part of the group of renewable energy. Biodiesel is highly biodegradable and non-toxic, and currently the most common produced in the world is derived from oil, but this is still unable to meet the entire world demand. However, a raw material of the third generation has been drawing attention of researchers, microalgae, these are being studied due to its high lipid production potential, and require a short time and less area for cultivation, generating low cost and especially not compete directly in the food industry, such as soybeans, which is currently one of the most exploited raw material for biodiesel production. In this work the microalgae species Monoraphidium sp was studied to assess the yield and characteristics. They were employed different methods of cellular disruption, such as assisted extraction via ultrasound and microwave, analyzing the extract and the extraction efficiency, which the highest yield was of 8.98% in crude extract through the cell disruption method via microwave / 7 cycles which lasted approximately 2 hours. Through Scanning Electron Microscopy technique (SEM) images showed the best results for the disruption of the cell wall using the microwave technique. Analysis (CHN), contributed in determining the presence of analysis, hydrogen and nitrogen in the sample. Analysis by infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), contributed to analyze the methods of disruption employees with chromatography  analysis column (CC) and thin layer chromatography (TLC), it is possible to identify the extracted major constituents, including lipids. Analysis by thermogravimetry (TG) was performed to identify the compounds present in the biomass and the extracted material and its performance. This work indicates a good use of material for the production of biodiesel using oil extracted from the microalgae Monoraphidium sp, with the technique of microwave.
