RESUMO:

Knowledge of the petroleum composition and its products is an absolute necessity in a refinery for adjusting the process conditions. Thus the optimization of oil refining is essential for predicting the distribution of products and their quality. Usually it is characterized by methods based on analysis by distillation such as distillation test called True Boiling Point (TBP). Perform the kinetic study of the thermal and catalytic degradation in the presence of zeolite H -BETA and evaluate the products obtained by PY - GC / MS light Petroleum was the main objective of this academic work. However, data correlations were made obtained by Simulated Distillation Gas Chromatography (SIMDIS) of thermogravimetric analysis (TG / DTG) and Pyrolysis coupled to a mass spectrometer (GC / MS) to aid in the analysis of data obtained. To accomplish that, a sample of oil with API degree of 35.5 obtained in potiguar oilfield was analyzed by the techniques of fluorescence energy dispersive X-ray (EDX) following ASTM D7220 was possible to determine the content of sulfur contained in the sample. The thermogravimetry (TG / DTG) revealed three-step weight loss, where the first stage relates to the removal of light hydrocarbons and organic compounds. The second step is decomposition of aromatic high molecular weight. And the third stage was the degradation of coke. Through the technique PY - GC / MS the sample degradation products were detected oil at temperatures of 350 to 450 ° C. The correlation of the data obtained in this work by Simulated Distillation techniques by Gas Chromatography (SIMDIS) based on the ASTM D2887 and thermogravimetry (TG / DTG), were effective in determining the boiling temperature and the existing carbon chains in fuel, obtaining the results from small amount of sample and reduction in analysis time when compared to conventional distillation. Therefore, this new methodology can be used to complement or as a substitute for conventional methodologies.
