RESUMO:

Emulsions are preparations used in different segments of industry and is highlight-ed by the area of drugs. The linseed and sesame oils have anti-inflammatory proper-ties, which become them having a great potential of application in humans. Their use in producing the emulsion formulations, exhibit satisfactory stability. The aqueous extract of pomegranate removed from pomegranate peel powder also has anti-inflammatory properties, even more than the oils themselves. From this context, this paper aims to get two different types of emulsions. The emulsions were obtained from ternary diagram using the aqueous phase distilled water and as surfactant the soya lecithin. Within the region emulsions presented in two diagrams, formulations of the type oil in water and higher stability were chosen. After choosing different compositions of rich emulsion in aqueous phase were added nipargim and nipasol as preservative and xanthan gum as stabilizer for guaranteeing greater stability. For each oil were chosen three formulations with no extract (six formulations). The addition of the extract was held in percentages of 0.3%, 0.5% and 1.0% in the formulations, generating eighteen formulations and totalizing twenty-four formulations studied. These formulations were characterized by measuring techniques pH, viscosity, conductivity, accelerated stability and thermal stability. Before adding the bioactive extract was used to Ultra-violet technique to quantify the bioactive present in pomegranate peel powder. The formulations with the addition of the extract had their pH values decreased and viscosity increased as higher was the percentage of the ex-tract in the medium. This is due to because the extract has phenols of acid character and amount of extract among needs more molecules to hydrate this extract, making the environment with less free water.
