RESUMO:

The Health Surveillance of Blood exercises the control of the transfusion risks related to hemotherapy services. In this aspect, it aims to minimize the health risks arising from the provision of these services, from the production and use of blood components (hemotherapy) seeking the protection of collective health. Current health legislation determines that hemotherapy services must have policies and actions that ensure the quality of products and services, ensuring that procedures and processes take place under controlled conditions and define the quality system as an organizational structure with responsibilities, policies , processes, procedures and resources established by the executive director of the institution to achieve the quality policy. In this sense, criteria for quality evaluation were elaborated in eight hemotherapy services in the interior of the State of Rio Grande do Norte, based on causes classified as modifiable, with the precepts of face validity (logical or apparent relevance), content (related to some dimension of the quality, needs and expectations of the professionals) and criterion (bibliographic reference that supports the scientific evidence of the criterion). The present study aims to develop a quality management program in the aforementioned services based on the evaluation of the Sub-Coordinator of State Health Surveillance (SUVISA), in accordance with what determines the current legislation. For this, a quantitative study of the quasi-experimental type was drawn up before and after the control group to improve quality. The study is submitted to an evaluation by the Research Ethics Committee of the University Hospital Onofre Lopes (CEP-HUOL).
