Study of the efficiency of the teaching-research-extension triad of the Federal Institutes: A proposed model for resource distribution
Budget distribution; public resources; professional education.
This study focuses on the analysis of the variables used for internal budget distribution in public educational institutions for the proposition of a new model capable of involving not only teaching but also research and extension. Based on recent surveys, studies like this one are increasingly necessary because there is no standardization in the way financial resources are allocated to each campus in institutions all over the country. The methodology used in this research will be qualitative-quantitative, with a descriptive objective and used, as technical procedures, documentary research, surveys and interviews. These procedures will be used as a way to get to know the procedures adopted by Brazilian institutions regarding budget distribution on their campuses, including semi-structured interviews with the managers of each institution in cases where this distribution process is not yet documented and published. After collecting the data, the component variables in the distribution process will be statistically analyzed, focusing on student performance in the teaching-research-extension tripod. As a result, it is expected that this research can present a model of intra-institutional budget distribution capable of meeting the demands of the campuses and benefiting student performance in the three spheres.
