SUMMARY:

Through discourse, managers seek to shape or influence the construction of reality to make their work environments favorable to their presence and that of their organizations. Starting from the discussion about a bibliographical review about rhetoric, discourse, development of competencies, and evolution of the teaching of administration, and considering the deadline of Resolution CNE/CES nº 5/2021 for compliance of the pedagogical projects of the graduation courses in administration in order to facilitate the development of competencies for effective communication, this thesis has as main objective to discuss the learning of rhetoric for the development of argumentative competences in the teaching of administration. The investigative process was structured in three interconnected stages; the first aimed to identify rhetoric learning in higher education courses in scientific databases over the last 20 years. Data from the systematic literature review were analyzed through content analysis. They supported the next step, to know the factors that can condition or enhance the practice and development of argumentation in the self-perception of a sample of students in the course of the administration who accept to participate in the research and are attending the same curricular component conducted under active methodologies. The data collected through questionnaires with open questions will undergo a thematic analysis to discover patterns and perceive valuable insights to meet the third specific objective: proposing ways to include pedagogical rhetoric in the academic formation offered by the administration course based on Brazilian guiding documents. The path of document data collection will be connected to the results of the previous steps by developing a matrix that will compare perceived factors to desirable attributes. It is expected that the results and the argumentations signal grounded pedagogical means for the applicability of learning rhetoric in the administrator's formation process so that it gives opportunities to improve the structure of speeches that complies with the expectations of students and the legal frameworks for the administration course, culminating in meeting the general objective of the study and evidencing a theoretical, practical and social contribution.
