TRAJECTORIES OF ENTREPRENEURS PARTICIPATING IN EMPRETEC-SEBRAE / RN IN THE LIGHT OF THE CAUSATION AND EFFECTUATION APPROACHES

In the field of organizations, Saras Sarasvathy, a scientist in the area of strategic and behavioral economics, proposed a decision-making logic in the creation and conduction of new businesses called effectuation, which didactically represents an opposition to the causation model, based on predictive logic. In the business world, it presents itself as an alternative to the rational way, based on theoretical concepts, especially in the face of high uncertainty scenarios, such as entrepreneurship. Considering entrepreneurship as a notorious professional alternative and an influence on the social and economic development of a locality, relevant formal support for public policies and private initiatives have been directed to it. In this research, it will be highlighted that of the institutions that foster entrepreneurial education, represented by Sebrae of Rio Grande do Norte (RN), through the Empretec course, which has already attracted more than 1,200 entrepreneurs in the state and more than 285,000 in Brazil. In order to analyze the trajectories of entrepreneurs participating in Empretec from Sebrae / RN in the light of the causation and effectuation approaches, an exploratory qualitative social research will be carried out. The case study will be based on primary, cross-sectional data collected through questionnaires and semi-structured interviews. The subsequent analysis of the data will take place with the help of Atlas.ti, hoping to obtain positive results between the causation mode and the methodology taught (Empretec) and the effectuation mode and management (in practice) by the entrepreneurs , allowing conclusions about a possible paradigm break regarding the new way of acting, deciding and teaching in the scope of entrepreneurship.
