SUMMARY:

It is a fact that in order to arrive at innovation, ideation must be practiced, this being the action of proposing ideas and generating the conditions for the creation of projects, capable of transforming the idea, into an invention. Innovativeness, in turn, is the capacity to innovate, which depends on fundamental factors that provide the necessary conditions for the generation of innovations that, for this, requires organizational change, behavioral change, knowledge management and collective learning, able to modify the entire fate of the organization. Organizational innovation can be done in a closed or open way. In the first option, it occurs within the organization's facilities, mainly with the internal Research and Development areas. In the second case, it occurs with interactions between partner organizations, which facilitate the ability to innovate, in which an organization can generate the ability to innovate from another organization, making it evolve. The objective of this doctoral project is to identify the possible existence of an Innovative Ecosystem, which allows the co-evolution of organizations in the ‘Baixo Pajeú’ of Pernambuco. For that, some concepts were needed to support the general content, such as: Evolution and Co-evolution; Organizational Ecology and Business Ecosystems; Institutional Theory; Innovation and Innovativeness; Interorganizational Interactions, Alliances and Networks; in addition to the Inductors and Barriers to the formation of an Innovative Ecosystem, which can be understood in an open way. It is hoped, as a result, that it will be possible to find, based on this discussion, an Innovative Ecosystem in the subdivision of ‘Baixo Pajeú’, in the Micro-region of Sertão do Pajeú, in Pernambuco.
