RESUMO:
The union of processes and projects significantly include a good part of the management of an entity. Daily activities are associated to the process area. The development of new products or services and the creation of new processes are related to the project area. Between the various management tools are stand out the use of process management (BPM) and the use of the project management PMBOK guide. However, the relationship between process and project is rather spontaneous, with a fine line in the division and integration (synergy) between process management and project management. Therefore, this research objective of to analyze how the synergy between process management in the light of BPM tools and project management from the point of view of the PMBOK best practice guide through the use of an application / software within the scope of project director of a higher education institution (HEI). To achieve this goal, the research adopts the qualitative approach, uses as a research procedure the action research and the case study, using a semi-structured interview as a means of data collection and content analysis for data analysis. As results, it is expected to develop better scientific knowledge regarding the synergy between process management (BPM) and project management (PMBOK).
