SUMMARY:

In this work, a study of the state of the art is made regarding the analysis of the life cycle in the field of renewable energies, reworking in a case study in which a way to calculate the contribution and terms of CO2 credits is proposed, given by a photovoltaic solar plant installed in the central campus of UFRN. The technique adopted proposes to remain available to the University's Infrastructure Superintendence, as a way to evaluate future facilities and to provide financing justifications for raising funds for these future facilities.

The importance of conducting studies based on the life cycle of certain processes is the possibility of creating inventories with data and indicators that will be used as a basis for the development of new sustainability research. In addition, the existence of an inventory also serves as a subsidy to expand the existence of public policies that encourage sustainable progress.

Ufrn's contribution to sustainable development is a very important issue, since this institution actively participates in the development of society in general, training and qualifying professionals who will be responsible for dictating the direction of society, in addition to promoting the capacity to form critical opinions and thoughts focused on sustainable development (GAZZONI, 2017).

The projects developed by public institutions with the use of renewable energies contribute significantly to the mitigation of greenhouse gases, besides providing the diversification of the energy matrix and providing greater energy security for the country.
