SUMMARY:

The proposed study aims to analyze the Three Satires for Piano by José Alberto Kaplan, exploring the intertextuality and idiomatic nature present in the work. The research seeks to understand the multiple references of stylistic and aesthetic contrasts used by the composer, in order to provide a stylistic basis for the musical performance. The discussion is guided by authors such as Klein (2005), Kaplan (2006), Fonseca (2005) Gomes (1985) and Hatten (1985). Heterogeneous musical aspects are analyzed, giving peculiarity to his works. It also investigates the works of the composers referenced in the satires. The research adopts an analytical-comparative approach and is characterized as documental. It seeks to contribute to musical performance, analyzing the intertextual references present in Três Sátires for Piano and exploring the connections between musical elements. By understanding these interrelationships, it is expected to enrich the performance and understanding of the work.
