RESUMO:

This research has the objective of making critical editions of five pieces for guitar by Amaro Carvalho de Siqueira, Devaneios No1, Confidências, Valsa de Esquina no1, Prelúdio no5, Valsa de Esquina no2, from the comparison between manuscripts and phonograms. The work consists of an introduction where we will present its first biographical data and the motivations that led us to this research. Subsequently we present the subsidies for the theoretical basis of our dissertation, where we reflect on directions to our questions regarding the musical edition, as well as the interpretative questions of the pieces. In the following chapter, reflections on manuscript sources and possible changes in the editions are presented, discussing the probable reasons for the choices and delimiting the results to arrive at the critical editions of the author’s three works. We also present some technicalinterpretative possibilities in the songs in order to performance information.
