RESUMO:

The objective of this study is to describe, elaborate and apply study strategies in the preparation of six of the twelve Études for piano Op. 33 by the Polish composer Karol Szymanowski. As theoretical references, we use Johnston (2002) and Williamon (2004), whose work use several strategies for the planning and preparation of a performance. The planning of the studies was divided into three stages, the first focused on the resolution of the most difficult sections, the second dedicated to the construction of the interpretation and to reinforce passages where there were persistent difficulties, and the third devoted to an interpretative polish, perfecting the executions of the passages, their speed and volume. The whole process of planning and preparing the performance, as well as the procedures and strategies adopted for each practice session were recorded in a study diary. The information contained in the journal provided data for the construction of this work and subsidies for discussions about the entire planning process and about the preparation of the six études that were researched.
