RESUMO:

This work is part of the research that has been developed together with the Graduate Program in Music of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte, where we investigated the relationship between the use of solid waste in the discursive and performance process, linked to the execution of two works Preselected. The objective of this article is to describe the process of construction of performances in compositions usually performed by percussionists, being: Music for eight persons playing things (Antunes, 1972), composed for pre-defined objects and the work Wart hog # 3 (Wrinkle, 1996 ), For open instrumentation. In this research, instruments were considered any objects that, a priori, were not manufactured or designed for musical performance purposes, extracted from the discarded waste collection, turning to this purpose, either by the intensity of the interpreter or the composer. The processes of performance creation of the pieces in question that will be reported in this study were performed by the Dimensions group, composed of drum and percussion students of the musical instrument course of the IFPB - Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Paraíba - fields João Pessoa , In the extension project of the PGS - Sustainable Management Program, entitled Experimental Music through Alternative Sound Sources. This study, when relating musical performance and sustainable management, ends up by understanding in the methodological process, from the selection of musical objects, through collection, to the performance construction, starting from the percussive gestures found and their respective sonorities. Thus, the methodology consists in the accomplishment of workshops of experimentation, exploration and analysis of the sonorities of the collected materials, design of the techniques and areas of touch of these materials until the execution of the works using the collected residues, where they finally acquire the function of instruments Musical instruments. The preliminary results brought about the expansion of sound possibilities, enrichment of artistic performance, environmental awareness and a new perspective while raising awareness and coexistence with discarded waste, thus fostering reflections on the relationship between the concept of sustainable management and possible unfolding in music and Arts in general.
