RESUMO:

Solo violin compositions have a prominent place in the violin repertoire because of their technical-interpretative challenges. However, few examples of virtuoso violin solo pieces in brazilian or Armorial character can be found. Due to this gap, we commited composer Danilo Guanais a violin solo piece in Armorial stile, to become object of study in this research. Intending to solve the problem of how to found an interpretation of this piece, this work provides aid to base a performance of O Caldeirão dos esquecidos. It also reports the piece's composition process, focusing the transformations resulted from the composer-performer interaction. Methodological tools as bibliographic and phonographic review, face-to-face meetings, interviews and score analysis were used, enlightened by authors as Guanais (2016; 2017), Queiroz (2014), Domenici (2013) and Ray (2010). From this research result: the present dissertation, the score edition with bowings and fingerings, the première and a record of the piece.
