RESUMO:

The present work deals with interpretative questions about four pieces for the soloist trombone by composer Maestro Duda, with the objective of suggesting interpretative subsidies that help in the development of the procedures of preparation and execution of the pieces. The pieces studied here are: Two Dances (Gizelle and Marquinhos in Frevo), Fantasia for Trumpet and Trombone, and Monette Suite. Among the main features of Maestro Duda's works, we can highlight the use of genres and musical elements of Brazilian culture, specifically of the Northeastern folklore, but few works are written about the interpretation of this type of music. Due to the fact that it is a work with partial result, we will not address the interpretive issues of the Concertino for Trombone at this time. In this way, an interpretative analysis of the three works was carried out, seeking to highlight the main interpretive aspects of the genres and elements of the northeastern folklore used in the pieces, as well as interpretative suggestions regarding the pieces. A semi - structured interview was conducted with the composer, aiming at references of works, as well as questions related to interpretation. Therefore, the work is divided into three parts: the first regarding the musical career of the composer and his production; The second addresses questions about interpretation; And the third part deals with the genres and musical elements of Brazilian culture and the Northeastern folklore used by the composer, as well as the interpretative suggestions for the trombone of the works studied. Thus, the suggestions contained in this work are not exactly the rules for the interpretation of this type of music, but rather possibilities based on the main characteristics and interpretative aspects of the genres and musical elements used by Maestro Duda in the pieces studied.
