RESUMO:

The present dissertation in musical performance will present interpretative questions in certain excerpts from the Three studies for Trumpet and Piano by the composer José de Lima Siqueira (1907-1985). It is a written work for trumpet soloist with accompaniment of the Piano, written in 1963 and dedicated to Brazilian trumpeter Valdomiro Alves. The objective of this work is to present a brief biographical account of the composer who wrote a great part of his works based on musical elements of the northeastern culture, being therefore considered a nationalist author. This study will also address the interpretative possibilities and resolutions of possible technical difficulties contained in the work. The work is divided into: Introduction; chapter 2, where we will bring brief information about the nationalist movement, observing how the composer studied is inserted in this context, presenting biographical information about him, with the purpose of informing and guiding future readers of this work; chapter 3, We will discuss the importance of routine study for a performer in his or her preparation to perform the said work, presenting books of studies (methods) of instrumental technique and interpretation, which will serve as subsidies for the execution of the work; chapter 4, we will present through tables the structural division of the work and we will show suggestions on how to overcome the technical and interpretative passages existing in the work.
