SUMMARY:

INTRODUCTION: The training axis of the Mais Médicos Program (PMM) was designed to improve medical training for Primary Health Care in Brazil. Since 2018, the Permanent Education Program in Family Health (PEPSUS) has been training doctors participating in the PMM. Although the PMM has been studied, research is needed to evaluate the effect of its training axis on PHC. OBJECTIVES: The present study aims to evaluate the effects of health training mediated by technology aimed at PMM professionals in PHC and, specifically: 1) analyze the interventions implemented by PMM doctors in the first training cycle and their relationship with programmatic actions from APS; 2) analyze the effects of technology-mediated training aimed at PMM doctors on PHC work processes and health indicators; and 3) develop a tool to assist health professionals in planning and implementing interventions in their territory of operation. METHOD: This is a mixed method research. To respond to the first specific objective, a qualitative study was carried out using the Text and Data Mining Technique and Bardin's content analysis. 942 reports of interventions carried out by PMM doctors, PEPSUS students, classes from 2018 to 2022, were analyzed. For the second objective, a scope review and a quantitative ecological study are being carried out. The scoping review aims to map and identify evidence about the effects of continuing education for health professionals within the scope of PHC, with searches in the main databases and gray literature. The mapped studies will be analyzed descriptively. For the ecological study, the units of analysis will be the health teams of the 250 PMM doctors participating in the most recent PEPSUS specialization class (2023). The effect on course participation will be evaluated in the dimensions: territorialization, infrastructure, work processes, access and reception and continuing education. A factor analysis will be carried out for each dimension and for all of them, obtaining the dependent variables that were measured before and after completing the specialization course. The paired "t" test will be applied, considering a significance of 5%. For the third objective, a technical production will be developed with the software protocol called “InterPEPSUS”. RESULTS: Based on the results already obtained from the qualitative analysis, it was observed that 57% of doctors worked in the Northeast Region, which is also the region with the majority of interventions (66.8%). From the analysis of bigrams, trigrams and quadrigrams, four constructs were formed: "women's health", "children's health", "chronic non-communicable diseases" and "mental health". Terms related to improving access, quality of care, teamwork and welcoming were also present among the N-grams. DISCUSSION: Thus, it was found that the interventions carried out are aligned with the programmatic actions recommended by the Ministry of Health for PHC, also addressing some transversal aspects, which suggests that the training experience in PEPSUS reflects on the way these professionals work. It is also expected to bring other evidence that will enable an evaluation of the training process of PMM doctors and present itself as a powerful tool for conducting permanent education policies in Brazil and around the world.
