SUMMARY:

Introduction: Hypertension is a serious public health problem that affects a large percentage of the Brazilian population, causing a large number of complications and deaths today. Monitoring hypertensive users in the Family Health Strategy (FHS) is essential for better control of this pathology, and consequently for harm reduction, and nursing care is essential for paradigm shifts in this context. Objective: To analyze the effect of a multifaceted nursing care intervention offered to users with arterial hypertension in the FHS, with a view to better blood pressure control. Methodology: This is an epidemiological, experimental study of the cluster randomized clinical trial type, with a quantitative approach, to be carried out in the FHS in two cities: Jucurutu, Rio Grande do Norte and São Caetano, Pernambuco. The research will consist of professional nurses working in the FHS of the two cities (12 FHS) and hypertensive users (396 users) who will be divided into two groups, the control group and the intervention group. Sample selection will be performed at two levels, that is, two randomizations. The first to define the FHS teams participating in the study and the second to select users with systemic arterial hypertension who will integrate the research. 4 interventions will be carried out during the course of the study: Training of professional nurses; application of structured nursing consultation for hypertensive users; telemonitoring and/or home visit for follow-up; and matrix support for nurses in the intervention group. Expected Results: as primary outcome the increase in the rate of control of blood pressure levels; as secondary outcomes a better quality of nursing care provided to users with hypertension and increased adherence of the study population to Lifestyle Changes (MEV).
