RESUMO:

The large-scale increase in the number of people with anxiety disorder highlights the need for attention. Symptoms that affect people’s quality of life often go unnoticed by professionals in routine appointments. In those cases primary care can provide a welcoming environment to users to be heard without fear and receive the necessary support. Besides traditional forms of care, complementary therapies help in mental health care, including cases of anxiety. As this practices are not often offered in public health units, this inclusion could offer more coping options, allowing user freedom of choice. The association of integrative and conventional practices enables their use in groups because it also plays a complementary role. So, this research aims to analize the contribution of complementary therapies to a therapeutic group of self-declared subjects anxious. This qualitative study has a descriptive-exploratory approach. At the end of the study was noticed that therapeutic group was well evaluated by the members before the introdution of integrative practices, however, one thing must be considerate that despite the attempt of comprehensive care offered by traditional means there is still a gap that was fillet by introdution of integrative practices. In addition to individual and collective emotional benefits resulting from this practice, the research draws attention to the possibility of reducing drug use by this group by introducing low-cost technology. Finally, it is possible to believe that association of traditional group practices with integrative and complementary therapies in the primary care favors new possibilities for integrality and the use of privileges for mental health care at this level of care.
