RESUMO:

Family Medicine (FM) began in Brazil in 1974. As early as 1976, the first three residence programs in the specialty emerged (GUSSO et al., 2012), however, there has always been a low demand for these residency programs. Several policies have been developed in order to reorient medical education, with a focus on Primary Health Care, especially the “Mais Médicos” Program. There was an expansion in the number of FM residency vacancies from 218 in 2003 to 6,283 in 2019. Faced with the growing demand of residents, in a scenario of few preceptors, different models have been tested in Brazil. There is little national and international comparative literature on these models of preceptoship and insertion of residents and preceptors in the scenario of primary care practice. Lack information about what models exist and are being practiced, how prevalent the use of these models is in the country residency programs, what are the strengths and weaknesses of each model, the degree of recommendation of each model and the factors that lead the choice. The objective of this study is to identify the preceptorship models in FamilyMedicine residency in the primary care learning set, associated with the identification of strengths and weaknesses of each model, as well as the prevalence of use of these models and the factors that lead your choice. For this, the study will be conducted in two stages: first a Delphi study to identify preceptorship models, identify their strengths and weaknesses and factors for their choice; followed by a descriptive cross-sectional study to verify the prevalence of use of each of these models.
