RESUMO:

Children's health care is a concern for politicians, managers and health professionals. The objective of this study was to analyze the quality of child health care in Brazil and to identify the associated socioeconomic contextual factors, based on the external evaluation of the Program for Improvement of Access and Quality - Basic Attention (PMAQ-AB) and the perception of nurses of Primary Care. This is a sectional study that will have as a unit of analysis all the health teams in Brazil evaluated by PMAQ-AB. Quality will be measured in five dimensions, each generating an indicator of quality: access and reception, resolution, work process, coordination of care and infrastructure. Quality criteria of the external evaluation will be chosen to be grouped in the mentioned dimensions and will be weighted by the technique of Item Response Theory (TRI), which considers its discriminatory power. Each dimension will be classified as good, fair or poor and the indicator of quality of the Child's Health will be the grouping of the five dimensions evaluated. The quality of child health care will be analyzed in relation to its association with contextual indicators such as HDI, proportion of water supply and per capita income, from bivariate analysis and multiple analysis using the Pearson's Chi-square test and logistic regression multinomial, respectively, with significance and 5%. The focus group technique will also be used in the Kitzinger approach (2009), which allows to stimulate and analyze the communication between members of a given group, starting from the researcher's stimulation for group interaction and data generation, will have from 6 to 9 participants , in a neutral place and have the moderator and rapporteur. It is hoped that this study will contribute to the planning and evaluation of activities related to children's health in PHC.
