RESUMO:

The high incidence and mortality from cervical cancer in Brazil justify the implementation of effective strategies to control the disease including health promotion, prevention and early detection, treatment and palliative care, when needed. Populations of Women Family Health Units are not covered by the examination of cytology in the age range recommended by the Ministry of Health. The actions of the nurse in the Family Health Strategy (FHS) are still ignorant, there is no trace in the age group recommends . Ministry of Health Thus the study screen has the general objective to analyze the Health Strategy nurse's shares aimed Family to early detection and screening for cervical cancer in Assú municipality of ESF and specific objectives: identify if there active search, by nurses, women in the age group most at risk for cervical cancer in the teams of the Family Health Strategy; know the health education actions aimed at preventing cervical cancer in the teams of the Family Health Strategy. This is an exploratory qualitative study. After institutional consent and assent of the Research Ethics Committee of the Hospital Onofre Lopes, Opinion No 1562578 and CAAE 537532155.000.5292, data collection was carried out in June 2016. Research participants were 11 nurses from the Health Strategy the municipal Family Assú / RN. We opted for the semi-structured individual interviews. Data were analyzed from the Thematic Content Analysis method of Minayo. Bringing the main results obtained from the research, it was realized that it is necessary that the teams of the Family Health Strategy are aware on the issue of the frequency in which these tests are done, the age at which these tests are performed, finally, to profile of women who should conduct the examination colpocytology oncótica.O fulfilling spontaneous demand for the collection of cytological sample must continue, but it is important to prioritize the age group most at risk for the disease. Thus, health education and active search should be as essential tools for the prevention and control of cervical cancer.
